The rental helmets are the same helmets that are sold at the Bear’s Den Pro Shop, so you can try the helmet and then buy your own for just $60 at the Bear’s Den Pro Shop.Ĭross Country Skis / Nordic Ski Equipment Rental: Of all the places to ski in Michigan, Cross Country skiing in the Upper Peninsula forests is the most relaxing way to spend your morning, day or afternoon at Ski Brule. Helmets can also be rented individually for $10.00. Ski Brule highly recommends the use of helmets while skiing and snowboarding. Helmet Rental: Helmets are included in both ski and snowboard complete rental packages. Don’t have one? No problem, leashes are available at the Rental Center and the Bear’s Den Pro Shop. Not sure if your stance is goofy foot or regular foot? The snowboard techs at the Ski Brule Rental Center will help you figure that out too! Have your own snowboard? Be sure to bring a snowboard leash, as it’s required by Michigan Ski Area Safety Act law. Snowboard boot sizes range from children’s size 3 to adult size 15. Snowboard Equipment Rental: A large selection of snowboard models are available at Ski Brule with snowboards ranging in sizes from size 80 to 163, including wide boards (for large size boots). The large equipment inventory of all Midwest Ski Resort includes ski boots from size children’s 7 to adult 16, skis from size 70 to 180. The Ski Brule Rental Center is the largest of any Michigan ski resort. Do not opt for a giant bulldozer if it is not needed for the job.Ħ) If it does not feel safe to use a dozer, refrain from doing and wait until the site conditions improve.The Rental Center at Ski Brule offers everything you need for a day at a Midwest ski resort. Smaller bulldozers may be cheaper to rent and to fuel and are easier to remove if they get stuck.
If a stake can easily be pushed into the ground by hand then a bulldozer will most likely sink.ĥ) Get a bulldozer that matches the size of a job. Pay special attention to low and uneven ground.Ĥ) Poke the ground. There may be debris or other hazards that are not noted on a site map that could pose a danger to a bulldozer or any other equipment typesģ) Look for hidden sinkholes, really wet spots or big patches of water.
A bulldozer could fall into these and get stuck.Ģ) Walk the site before bringing out any heavy equipment. Be aware of drainage ditches, cisterns, or other holes and caverns. There are six steps that can be taken to prevent a dozer from getting stuck:ġ) Always examine the worksite plans before starting a project. It can happen and dozers can be difficult to get out once they are stuck. However this does not mean that bulldozers cannot get stuck in soft ground or mud. Because bulldozers are fitted with tracks instead of tires, they distribute their weight more evenly and are better for working on soft ground.
